Week 12 CFB & Week 11 NFL
Gambling Picks, Trends and Info
By Jake Sofranko of WithAnOhioBias and Mike Young, Sports Wagering and Integrity Analyst for CG Technology
Okay Buckeye Nation, we are spinning are wheels in the rankings. Still there is reason for hope but we’re going to need to get a little help. Not a lot of help but a little help and it starts today. Syracuse upsetting the Irish would go a long way. The Pokes came close to legitimit “Bedlam” last week vs Oklahoma. Can they eliminate DubV this week? Clemson takes on a capable Duke squad. Wazzu is on the road taking on Arizona who have knocked off Oregon and the Buffs the last 2 Saturday’s at home. It won’t matter though if tOSU doesn’t handle their business by cooking up some turtle soup.
Meanwhile in the land of Roger Ball, Who Dey is somehow still in playoff contention. They take on the Crows in Baltimore in a must win divisional game. The Browns get the week off before Baker and boys head to Cinncy for a meeting with the Bengals and new assistant coach Hue Jackson who will no doubt be spending the entire week “watching the tape”. Anyway, here are your notes and picks by Mike.
Good Luck if you’re tailing!
○ Ohio State -Maryland
■ Line move from OSU -17 at open to OSU -14 (-115) currently
■ A lot of early Terps $ but now 53% of $ on OSU
○ Clemson-Duke
■ When Lawrence is starter (not including Syracuse game he got hurt)
● 5-0 ATS
■ When Lawrence is not starter / hurt halfway thru
● 0-4 ATS
■ 56% of spread $ on Clemson
■ Line has moved a half point towards Tigers since open
○ Syracuse-Notre Dame
■ 72% of $ on Syracuse
■ Market move: half point towards Notre Dame
○ Iowa State-Texas
■ ISU: 9-1-1 ATS last 11 road games
■ 66% of $ on Cyclones
Mikes Picks:
MTSU +16
UVA +6.5
TTU -6
■ Still no lines offered in Vegas (and haven’t seen any reliable offshore books post lines for this either)
■ Status of BAL starting QB + AJ Green injury causing books to withhold lines
■ 2nd biggest handle of any Sunday game at CG so far
● Arizona-Oakland drawing more $ (Raider fans out here smh)
■ HOU -3 (-105) at the moment, half point move towards HOU since open
■ 82% of spread $ on Texans
■ “Last week syndrome”  sense a lot of recency bias here
■ 92% of $ at CG on Cowboys
■ Line holding fairly steady (Chicago -3 to Chicago -3ev)
■ 68% on Bears
■ Highest total in NFL history, up to 63.5 at CG
■ Line moved to 4 briefly when news broke that game would move to LA
● Since then dropped back to Rams -3.5, which is what it was at beginning of week when we thought it would be in Mexico
■ 51% of $ on LAR
Mikes ML Picks:
Dallas +150
Oakland +160
Jacksonville +205
See ya at the window!

Everything Degenerate Nation 11-09-18

By Jake Sofranko of WAOB and Mike Young Sports Wagering and Integrity Analyst for CG Technology.

Well, Degenerate Nation here we are in the home stretch of football season and the start of the college basketball season and traditions are what come to mind. Traditions like Thanksgiving NFL, The Maui Classic, Ohio State v Michigan, Alabama v The Citadel…I guess some traditions are better than others. Anyhow, it is definitely a great time to be a sports bettor. Here are some notes, trends, info and picks for your wagering weekend and beyond.
-David Payne Purdum reported that more $ was bet—and lost— at Nevada sportsbooks in September than any other month since the State began tracking sports betting revenue in 1984. Still dwarfs the penny slots revenue.
-It was a rough Sunday last week for the books as SportsInsights reported that NFL teams getting the majority of spread bets went 11-0 ATS. The public definitely got the best of Rogerball for once.
-A prominent Vegas book opened “The Game” with Michigan as a 3.5 point favorite over tOSU at the Horseshoe in 2 weeks.
