Ohio’s Own Showtime Shawn Porter
The IBF Welterweight Champ
Boxing is dead, not so fast fight fans..
On Saturday Night Akron’s own Showtime Shawn Porter will defend his IBF Welterweight Championship against Kell Brooks. We have been fans of Shawn since when promoting a fight during a radio interview with Ken Carman (923TheFan listen below) stated as Champ he wanted to be the role model and icon for Northeast Ohio. Its not difficult to celebrate Ohioans especially those who have worked hard and never forgot how special the Buckeye state is.
Shawn a former Olympian who has fought all over the world, has rarely lost especially since turning pro, his record is 32-0-1. Clearly all Showtime has done is Win! Here at WAOB were huge fans and like his father and brother who train him are #TeamPorter!
Showtime Shawn Porter is represented by Boxing Great Oscar De La Hoya and GoldenBoy Productions. Cant say enough of how special it is to have someone to root for in the Sweet Science of Boxing who deserves it and never forgot his home!
